Launched: ReedBellon.com

I’ve been working on a site for my cousin Reed for a little while now. Actually, I had it slated to be done sometime back but some other projects popped up and delayed it.

At any rate, the purpose of reedbellon.com is to provide a portfolio of Reed’s work on the radio and “in the studio” (one of my favorite terms). I cannot take credit for the layout/design but it did take a little tech-knowhow to pull everything together (not to mention getting the audio and video to work on there as well). Also right now there is a VERY random Flickr RSS feed at the bottom…Soon it should pull some relevant pictures of Reed, possibly some guys with mixing equipment, or maybe a penguin or something.

Currently it’s a little bare-bones. It will grow in the upcoming week with more content. Keep up to date with it here if you interested.

If anyone’s got any suggestions for other improvements feel free to drop me a line. Or better yet- head on over and leave a comment!

Anita- thank you! You’re always supportive (that’s your job, I think- which you’re great at)

db- Any suggestions for compressing quicktime (.mov/avi) files on a mac to make them a little more site- friendly? I see that you guys tend to use google video/you tube (which might have been an option about 200mb ago)

If you make the video iPod friendly, that should shrink the file size down a bit. Look at the ask a ninja podcast. It’s about 5 minutes long and weighs less than 30MB.

Not sure how to do it tho. Otherwise, youtube/google/metacafe are all good options. Poke around a bit and you might be able to find a flash player that you can embed with your own stuff to keep the branding consistent.
